** Criteria and application may change slightly for 2016

For those candidates who submitted applications for the Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas 2015 Advanced Sommelier Examination and/or Advanced Sommelier Course, thank you.

Each year, the Court of Master Sommeliers receives many more applications than there are seats for those aspiring to the Advanced Sommelier Certification. And the demand grew substantially for 2015! The organization appreciates the growing interest in our certification and continues to address the rapid increase in the number of applicants while upholding the integrity of the Examination and Advanced Sommelier certification.  In 2015, we have added 33% more seats to the Examination in order to enroll as many qualified candidates as possible.

Applications for the Advanced Sommelier Course and Advanced Sommelier Exam have been reviewed by the Examination and Course Development Committees. Despite the expansion in the number of seats offered, we are unable to accept all candidates; some will not be invited and some will be waitlisted.

Admittance for 2015 Advanced Sommelier Examination is prioritized based on the criteria below:

·    Candidates who have at least three (3) years minimum experience in the front-of-the-house restaurant service industry.
