Sally Mohr earned the title of Master Sommelier in 1995 and was the second woman in the United States to achieve that distinction. There are less than 300 professionals world-wide that have earned this distinguished title.

She began her wine career as an employee at The Boulder Wine Merchant in 1983 and became a co-owner of this prestigious specialty retail wine shop in 1986.

In 2009, Sally passed the Advanced Sake Professional course conducted by John Gauntner in Japan. And in 2018, she earned the distinction of Level 3 Sake Educator from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust. She is a board member of the Sake Education Council.

In 2010, Sally is a Master level examiner and educator with the Court of Master Sommeliers.  She has been a featured speaker at the Los Angeles County Fair Wine Education, Steamboat Wine Festival, TexSom Wine Conference and Telluride Wine Festival plus various others around the country.  She continues to put her palate to the test by judging in various regional and international wine competitions.

Her enthusiasm for Colorado wines brought her the opportunity to consult with Bookcliff Vineyards for over a decade.  Sally continues to provide Boulder and Denver area restaurants with staff training and wine list development. With her assistance, Restaurant Kevin Taylor received the Wine Spectator Best of Excellence Award in 1999.
