With more than 30 years at the Bristol Bar & Grille, Scott Harper is currently a managing partner. He also serves as a corporate wine and beverage director, overseeing the wine programs for all Bristol locations. In spring of 2017 he opened Cuvee Wine Table, a Restaurant and Wine, offering over 57 wines by the glass.

In 2009, Scott earned his Master Sommelier Diploma. Scott is an Executive Bourbon Steward and a Member of the Stave and Thief Society. He has visited a voluminous number of distilleries in Kentucky choosing barrel picks for the Bristol Bar & Grille restaurants. One of the three Bristol’s, The Bristol Bar & Grille-Downtown Bourbon is on the Urban Bourbon Trail which mandates a minimum of 60 Kentucky Bourbons as well bourbon-based dishes, cocktails, and flights. He has spoken about bourbon at TEXSOM, Court Of Master Sommelier Advances Sommelier Class and teaches the Kentucky Bourbon Primer at Bellarmine University.

Scott also holds the title of Certified Wine Educator (CWE). This is the highest level of recognition of the Society of Wine Educators. He is a recipient of the Banfi Award, given to the individual who passes the CWE examination on the first sitting, and with the highest score.

Always doing his best to educate and give back to the community, Harper teaches wine and spirit courses through the continuing education program at Bellarmine University, and he has written for Sophisticated Living and Food And Dining.

Where are you working currently and how has being a MS supported you in your current role?

I am an owner of Cuvee Wine Table and Bristol Bar & Grille. Cuvee Wine Table is a Wine Bar restaurant with a retail section and a wine club so it is a natural extension of being a MS.
